Hi everyone, just thought I would write a blog especially as Joe was calling me lazy for not going out on the roads on Saturday. Well Joe wasn’t it you that said you couldn’t be bothered to get the miles in to race on the roads this year? I’ll leave it at that as you are bigger than me………….. but only just!
It’s been a busy old time lately with all the track accreditation, league 2000 and Croft but really enjoyable. I really enjoyed the race on Sunday I think it was possibly the best race I’ve done I managed to stay with the group of about 10 riders who stayed together for the whole race which included A cat riders as well as us B’s. Josh Teasdale did have his 10 minutes of glory getting away early on but eventually got dragged back. The race cracked on with various attacks including me! But none of them succeeded and it was left to a sprint which was won by Jack Penrice with Harry T second and Jake Ragan third. The regional medals went to Harry Alex Hopper and Matthew Woods just pipping me in a sprint for the bronze. Well done guys. The E,D,C race was won by Charlie who is flying and seemed to be messing with the other riders, Matthew Worton of Stockton wheelers is going really well also having just moved up a category he was in the mix all the way. The second group of riders included Tom Mein our Jake and Joe and Angus. Thomas won the D’s our Jake was second and Matthew Braybrooke third I think. Kim Baptista won the E’s with a good race between Ben and Toby for second and third Toby getting it in a sprint.
Monday night was league 2000 I lived up to my nickname of crash test dummy as on the skills I managed to wipe out all the obstacles virtually including the start cone! I made up for it in the time trial just missing my P.B by a fraction of a second. Our Ben had a great night doing well on the skills a P.B on the time Trial and was flying on the race well done little one.
Tonight was Croft and the numbers were a little bit down but the racing was still good. Our Ben had another good night winning the under 8’s race under 10’s went to Tom Mein who rode away from Miles Worner our Jake Emma B and one other sorry cant remember, Jake faded towards the end leaving it up to Emma B to sprint for 2nd with Miles she only just got beat apparently. Under 12’s was won by Charlie sorry cant remember the rest. Under 14’s was won by Harry and the overall, Alex 2nd me 3rd Under 16’s by Josh T.
Tomorrow is Phoenix grass track if I can persuade dad to take us, then on Thursday I’m hoping to do Stockton wheelers 10 mile trial, track on Friday and then Coalfields on Saturday.
