Emzy`s Never Ending Week Blog.

Hiya Everyone,

Sorry my blog is late but I've been busy with my SAT`s and revision and such like.

Lets start with Croft last Tuesday. Lots of Hetton riders turned up for the handicapped races at the motor racing circuit which ended in a bunch sprint won by Alex with Charlie T second and me third.

Then on the Thursday we had a two day coaching session at Hetton ran by John Bateman and Jamie Brady. We did lots of skills such as cornering, Italian Pursuits, hill sprints etc. It was a very good two days. It was a really good turn out with riders from around the North East. Thanks to John and Jamie for the coaching and Jackie for the hot-dogs, they were very nice.

The Friday didn't end at Hetton because some of us traveled down in the minibus to Manchester Velodrome to do our second track accreditation. Are we ever going to get a track in the north-east!! Thanks to Darren who did all the driving in dreadful traffic.

Then on Monday it was the first League 2000 of the season. League 2000 consists of a time trial, a skills test then finally a handicapped race. There are twelve races over the summer with ten to count.

It was back to Croft again on Tuesday this week. Croft is a handicapped race on a flat one mile circuit. The Formula Renault teams were there testing for a race in a few weeks time with all the big mobile workshops and race cars in the garages and car park.

Wednesday was the first ever grass track race at Blakelaw organised by the Phoenix. Well done to Thomas M for winning the first ever grass track race at Blakelaw, unless anyone knows different!

We did several races but my favourites were the devil which I won from Adam, revenge for him beating me earlier in another race. We took the Phoenix on in an Italian pursuit with them leading most of the way. Thomas M pulled them back on the second last lap giving me a small lead which I held on to. It was a good night, even the weather was good. The racing is on every Wednesday starting at 7pm.
Thanks to all at Newcastle Phoenix for setting it up.

There's training at Hetton on Saturday starting at 10 and the following day the Divisional circuit champs on Sunday at Cleveland. See you there.

Love from
