Emzy`s Ambulance Blog
Hiya Everyone,
Well I should be at school right now but I have time on my hands to write this blog.
Yesterday started well at Cleveland Police HQ the weather was better and the under 12 race saw plenty of the Hawks doing well. The race was won easily by Charlie Tanfield well done Charlie. I don't know all of the results because I left shortly after that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My race ended in a disaster for me. The race started well but I got chucked out the back of the bunch. I was isolated for a lap but then noticed a rider catching me up so I was thinking I would have someone to work with, but no I didn't. We just got past the start/finish line and the rider decided to stop because he must of had a technical. I didn't know he was going to stop he didn't signal and he hit my front wheel sending me flying through the air. I think I did a cartwheel affect in the air hitting my head and smashing my new helmet. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET! THANKS JAMIE!!!!! I landed on my left hip and slid across the ground on my shoulder and elbow. I have no skin on my left butt and on my shoulder, back and elbow, But luckily I haven't broken anything. The first face
I saw when I opened my eyes was Sarfraz staring at me (that was a shock-only joking Sarfraz pleased you were there!) I had lots of help thanks to both the Claires' and Jackie and Sarfraz for getting the ambulance for me. The morphine was really nnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiiiccccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeee. It made me sleep through everything in the hospital, even the x-ray.I was sorry to see my skinsuit go, it had to be cut off but had a big hole in the shoulder anyway. Thanks to the ambulance crew and the hospital staff for caring for me.
I'm sorry to all the riders that the race had to be stopped because of me although some have thanked me, for the little rest they got.
I am hoping to be back on my bike by the end of the week. I think the rider who I collided with was one of the new riders at Cleveland (do you know you can join in at Hetton on a Saturday morning at 10.30 we have excellent coaches including Jamie!) They will help you with your technical abilities and safety and its fun. I hope to see you there. (but I might keep a wide birth!!!)
I am going to spend most of the day relaxing to rest myself from the shock and I'm aching all over, but my Mam says' "I have to go on Sam-learning because I have my Sats in May."
Well done to Harry for winning the u14 cat and the rest of the Hawks who took part for doing well. Thanks to everyone who rang and text me yesterday to make sure I was OK and to Claire Tanfield who ran me a bath. It really helped.
Next week we have the Hetton Spring Classic which I probably can't ride (again), but I will be there to help cheer the Hawks on. We need donations for refreshments anything greatly accepted. Lets hope the weather is good.
See you all there.
