This weekend was the North West Youth Tour. Matthew, Joe, Emma and Thomas were representing the Hawks. There were 5 events over 3 days - 1 time trial and 4 races.
All the Hawks were close to or involved in a crash, but Thomas and his bike came off worse. Joe and Matty were behind a crash on Sunday, Emma hit a barrier on Saturday on the last lap and Thomas came off on Sunday on the last lap. Thanks to Jamie, and 2 hours worth of bike repairs and Emma's wheels, he was able to ride and finished 3rd in Monday's race.
On Saturday, it was a typical British summers day - rain, rain and more rain and random dogs on the track slowing Thomas, Emma and a few other riders time trial down. But on Sunday and Monday, the sun sort of came out for us.
This Sunday, Thomas and Emma are racing on the track at Scunthorpe and I'm off to Belgium so I'll get them to write a blog about that.
