The Captains Blog 1st August 2010

Its raining outside so I'm writing about biking instead of doing biking ;) There's mountain biking on at Chopwell woods, Alex Mc is running it for 12 to 16 year olds every Monday through the summer hols. I got the form from my school and went last Monday, its a good day out. It starts at 10 and finishes at 1. If anyone fancies going too, give him a ring, its freeeeeeee.

I havent done a blog for some time now, sorry, but I have been doing all sorts...............I've outgrown my road bike now, so I'm on my best ever behaviour at home, I've got my eyes on a nice bike. ££££££££. I only have a couple of CDNW races to do in the league, I've only did 1 National, the 3 day North West tour, but doing the CDNW races instead. I came off my bike a few weeks ago doing a road race and even managed 3 days off school becuase of it :) I went to the hospital and they said I'd bruised my knee bone, yip I guessed that with the pain I had.

Hi all, it's been a busy few weeks racing since I last wrote a blog- track racing and the national youth circuit races and local races.
Last Friday night: Leazes Park crits. Good turn with the Hawks.
Last Saturday: British Cycling Northern Omnium Series @ Manchester Velodrome. Thomas and Emma representing the Hawks and doing a very good job of it aswell!
Last Sunday: Newcastle Phoenix Races @ Hetton: Couldn’t go as doing History Project. But heard it was cold, rainy and windy!
Last Monday night: BC Race @ Southbank, Middlesbrough. Usual suspects.

Hiya,
This weekend was the North West Youth Tour. Matthew, Joe, Emma and Thomas were representing the Hawks. There were 5 events over 3 days - 1 time trial and 4 races.
All the Hawks were close to or involved in a crash, but Thomas and his bike came off worse. Joe and Matty were behind a crash on Sunday, Emma hit a barrier on Saturday on the last lap and Thomas came off on Sunday on the last lap. Thanks to Jamie, and 2 hours worth of bike repairs and Emma's wheels, he was able to ride and finished 3rd in Monday's race.

Hiya all,
Hope you are enjoying the lovely weather. I am as I’m out in the garden sunbathing! I feel like Thomas & Emma’s secretary as once again, I’m writing about them. At the moment, they are in sunny Dundee doing a track race. It’s Thomas' first race on the track but as I’ve heard, he seems to be doing well.

Results-- Overall- Thomas came 3rd boy and Emma was 1st Girl.
Kieron- Emma 1st in her group. Thomas 3rd in his group.
And more results later.

Its been quite some time since I did a blog. I've been riding my little legs off doing races at Croft and CDNW. Last Saturday I did a race at Salt Ayre (CDNW) and came 9th, mind you there were 44 U14s in my race, first we did a 5 lap race, then 20 lap race, I was knackered. There were 2 crashes, I managed to ride around them both, but the first crash the ambulance was called, the second were grazes. I think I may have rode over a face of some one in the first crash, but it couldnt be avoided.
